Mariah Carey Snowflake

Design & Fabrication
Madison Square Garden - NYC
December 2022

With just a few weeks left until the holidays, FKB—in collaboration with PHNTM—designed and fabricated a giant snowflake throne for Grammy Award-winning artist Mariah Carey’s holiday special, “Merry Christmas to All.” Filmed live at New York City’s Madison Square Garden and broadcast on CBS, this snowflake throne was used for Mariah's stunning entrance to the performance, which is now streaming on Paramount+.

Tasked with creating a throne worthy of the Queen of Christmas herself with just a few weeks left until the performance, our team worked diligently and expeditiously to design, fabricate, finish, and ship out this one-of-a-kind snowflake throne.

Crafted using steel and clear acrylic and tested by various members of our fabrication team, the snowflake throne was designed to float Mariah Carey down onto the stage to open her concert during her rendition of “Sugar Plum Fairy Interlude.”

Part of the challenge, though, was making sure the throne sparkled as much as Mariah. To achieve that star-quality glimmer, we finished the steel design with glitter paint and outlined the design in reflective acrylic, which captured and reflected lights as Mariah was lowered onto the stage.

FKB is incredibly proud of all the hard work our team put into this project, and we want to extend a special thank you to Mariah Carey, the PHNTM team, and all the other collaborators who made this show a resounding success.
